However I do know that after a year of organizational theory stressing over college essays, grades, and test scores, I have very high expectations for what my college experience will be. Currently I am undecided in what my major is going to be, and every college I visited promised me that through the curriculum their school provides I will find my passion. This I believe will be true. I have also been promised an environment of strong political activism, where I will have the opportunity to get involved in any sort of issue or cause if I choose to. This I believe will be true. And college has also promised me an environment where I will meet new people, and have the opportunity to try and see things that I previously never have.

This I also believe will be true. All of these different experiences are the appeals that college offers to its students, and of pi it has been this way since the 1960’s. Therefore, if college is offering the same academic and social experience as before, why are college campuses becoming more and more apathetic? In my opinion the problem is not that college is changing, but rather that our society as a whole is. It’s not that “College as America used to understand it is coming to an end.” It’s that America as the citizens of organizational this country used to understand it is coming to an end. The sixties revolution is an extremely unique part of our American history. Pros And Cons! Through sex, music, and organizational theory drugs the Cup, young adults in our society were able to develop their own culture in which radical change was embraced. College students of the sixties were fed up with the system, and they made it their goal to try and change the policies to theory better society.

In today’s world, we don’t see efforts comparable to those in penicillin, the sixties from the students of our universities. In the sixties college was really regarded more as a decision, whereas today most well thought of careers will not even consider hiring candidates if they don’t have a college degree. Therefore, this makes students more likely to be focused on the schoolwork itself rather than getting involved in causes that are important to them. Another reason I believe we see less of school pros a noticeable change in our society from classic college campuses is due to a lack of inspiration. And currently I see no voices in our mainstream culture that would have the ability to impact the lives of students across America as so many did forty years ago. In my opinion I don’t think you can possibly ignore the impact, or lack there of, that greater society has had on our generation. I think that we as a nation have become very resilient over about regrets, the past decade or so, and this has in turn caused a very apathetic group of individuals. You can blame our generations indifference towards the world on our nation to a certain degree, however at classic, some point we need to take a certain amount of self-blame.

I can admit that even though a specific person, movement, or event has never inspired me I am choosing to live a life comfort and ease. You probably know someone whose Facebook “favorite quote” box contains either Mark Twain’s directive to “sail away from safe harbor,” or Tom Petty’s exhortation to “be irresponsible” because “the work never ends, but college does.” To today’s students, college is a time where one should dare to make mistakes. This is already evident in what we observe in how universities nationwide are run.
